During the holiday season, troopers with the Illinois state police will be out in force on the look out for ” Fatal Four” moving violations, which include speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, not wearing seat belts and distracted driving.
Iowa troopers also plan to be on the look out for the duration of the holiday weekend in anticipation of increased traffic. As part of their Special Traffic Enforcement Program, they will be stopping drivers suspected of dui and other violations that create unsafe conditions for everyone on the roadway.
Drivers are being urged to take their time, maintain focus while driving and avoid consumption of alcohol prior to setting out at this busy time of year.
